Expert comment available for journalists in the field of complementary pet medicine.

As public interest in the area of complementary medicine for pets increases, access to expertise in this field will be required. Expert Peter Culpin is available to comment on all areas of complementary and conventional pet healthcare. Case histories can be made available.

Peter Culpin BSc., MA., VetMB., MRCVS., is a practising vet. Peter read Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge qualifying in 1977 and then started his own practice in Surrey in 1979. He has spent the last fifteen years combining homeopathic treatment and other alternative therapies with conventional medicine. He has completed the three-year HPTG course in homeopathy at Oxford and is an associate member of the British Homeopathic Association and the British Association of Holistic Veterinary Medicine.

He launched the first consumer pet magazine "Petcare" in 1980 that later became the British Veterinary Association publication "You and Your Vet" to which he still contributes as well as to a variety of other pet magazines. He has also participated in a number of TV and radio programmes on pet health and complementary therapies.

Peter regularly sees referral cases in homeopathy and has a large following of clients interested in the "integrated" approach of combining complementary techniques with conventional medicine, of which he is a pioneer.

He has been chairman of the Editorial committee of the British Association of Homeopathic Veterinary Surgeons and has been external Veterinary Surgeon to Beecham Animal Health, scientific advisor to Regina plc and Denes Veterinary Herbal Products Limited. He was awarded the Meritorious Award for service to the RSPCA in 1998.

Peter is Managing Director of PETS Naturally Ltd®, a company bringing complementary pet care to the mainstream pet owning public as part of its championing of integrated healthcare.

What is PETS Naturally®?

* A new veterinary driven pet care company launched in 2002. Its philosophy is to combine the very best of complementary and conventional veterinary medicine. Complementary pet care encompasses homeopathy, herbalism, acupuncture, osteopathy, chiropractic, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy.
It is the company's objective to offer complementary therapies in conjunction with traditional medicine so that the mainstream pet owning public have a choice in the way their pets are treated.

Why now?

* As the rise in health scares continues and the questioning of traditional medicine increases, today's pet owner has begun to copy these concerns on to the health of their pets. PETS Naturally® believes that access to the benefits of complementary pet care alongside conventional pet care should now be made more widely available to the public.

What does PETS Naturally® provide?

* The company can now supply help and advice to the pet owner through its website www.petsnaturally.com. It is also building a chain of integrated veterinary practices offering complementary and conventional medicine side by side. The Company plans to produce and sell its own unique products, as well as existing complementary products, later in 2002.
